Morufu Fadipe, the Islamic cleric who turned his 22-year old daughter into a sex slave, is alleged to have regained his freedom over the inability of social workers and the Police to raise required amount (N14,000) needed for his prosecution in Court.
The cleric was arrested based on the complaints received by the police over allegations of sexual molestation of his daughter.
Upon his arrest, his daughter confirmed that her father had fondled her breasts, inserted fingers into her private part
before penetrating her.
It was gathered that there had been a back and forth blame game for between the police and the social workers over the prosecution of the suspect since his arrest.
The social workers, who were the complainant in the matter, asked the Ikotun Police Division to charge the matter to Court which the police equally agreed to do. The Police subsequently asked the social workers to provide the money for logistics which amounted to about N14,000 as there was no provision for such at FSU in the Division.
It was gathered that most cases of abuse at various stations in Lagos were mainly sponsored by Investigation Police Officers through their salaries and some were partly provided by the social workers.
The police had insisted that if the complainants, the social workers, did not provide the fund, the police will have no choice than to allow him to go once he provided credible surety.
