Ibrahim Idris, Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police has again failed to appear before the Senate for the third time.
The police boss who was invited to appear before plenary failed to honor the invitation to explain the spate on killings across the country and the inhumane treatment meted out to Senator Dino Melaye.
At about 12:08 after waiting for the IGP to appear, it was obvious he was not going to be at plenary. Senator Lawan stood and said the situation was a sad one as the Senate was at a crossroad.
Following a motion raised, Senate President Bukola Saraki ruled that the Senate would go into a closed-door session.
IGP Idris was first summoned by the Senate in April and on the 2nd of may 2018 which he ignored without any reason given or any written explanation to the Senate.
The police boss was some time ago summoned to answer questions bothering on a petition against him by Senator Isah Misau, the senator representing Bauchi central senatorial district
