The Lagos State Police Command has arrested one Dr. Olalekan Kalejaye a self-acclaimed Lagos State University, LASU, lecturer for allegedly duping some students of a huge amount of money under the pretense of helping them secure admission in the school.
The promises made by Kalejaye who claimed to have a Ph.D., however, turned out to be scams as an undisclosed number of students were defrauded of money running into millions of Naira.
According to P.M.EXPRESS, the suspect worked through agents, who contacted some students who wrote 2017 JAMB examination and obtained monies from them.
The students, however, failed to secure admission when the University eventually closed the admission for the session, and Klejaye was nowhere to be found.
One of the victims, Olabanjo Lola, however, sighted him and contacted the police, who arrested and detained him.
Kalejaye confessed that he was not a staff of LASU neither does he have a Ph.D. as he made the victims to believe.
He was subsequently charged before Ejigbo Magistrates court for the alleged fraud, where he pleaded not guilty.
