Woman Faints In Court After Guilty Verdict is Read For Attempted Murder

A 45-year-old woman who was convicted of hiring a hitman to murder her ex-husband fainted in court just moments after her guilty verdict was read out in court.

Diana Lovejoy was found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder and attempted murder over an attack on her estranged husband Greg Mulvihill in September 2016.

Footage taken from inside the courtroom and released by Fox 5 showed Diana looking astonished at her legal team as the guilty verdict was read out then she collapsed in her chair a few seconds later.

One of her lawyers immediately reached out and grabbed her hand just as an officer moved in to help her sit upright and then helped her lie down on the floor as another officer called for medical assistance.

Diana’s co-defendant and gun instructor Weldon McDavid Jr. was also found guilty of attempted murder and assault using a deadly weapon.

Diana and her ex-husband had separated in 2014 and were in the middle of a custody battle over their son as at the time of the attempted murder.She had accused her ex of molesting their child as well as sexually abusing her.

Mulvihill was injured on the night of September 1 after he received a phone call from someone who claimed to be a private investigator with information on his ex-wife.He was instructed to drive to a deserted road where he was shot

Diana faces up to 25 years to life, while  McDavid faces 50 years to life in prison.

They will both be sentenced on December 12.
