The Osun State Police Command yesterday paraded two men who are suspected to be ritualists and specialize in duping and defrauding members of the public under the guise of being herbalists.
The suspects paraded by Mr. Fimihan Adeoye, the state commissioner of police, at the Force headquarters, in Osogbo are 21-year-old Yusuf Taofeek, and Jimoh Sherif, aged 20.
Commissioner Fimihan said the suspects were taken into custody on 6th October 2017, after a tip-off by some vigilant residents at Jamodo junction, Ifon-Osun, where the suspects’ shrine was discovered by the police.
The commissioner said Police Operatives discovered that some cultists /ritualists who go by the code name “ZONE 2” at Jamodo junction, headed by one Sehidu Aliu, alias ‘Alaga’ who is presently on the run, usually assemble at the shrine.
They are said to brandish guns and cutlasses and other weapons before their victims, and It was revealed that most of their victims were those who come to them for money rituals.
According to the police boss, the syndicates operate by duping and defrauding members of the public under while pretending to be herbalists and to carry out money rituals for them.
