A 30-year-old, lady Cierra Alexis Sutton has been charged with the murder of boyfriend, Steven Coleman, CBS reports.
According to CBS the police as the report says, Sutton fatally shot and killed her boyfriend Coleman while he slept and went ahead to dismember his body in their home at Baytown, Texas on August 16, 2017.
Friends of Sutton reportedly say she confessed and told them her daughter who is ten years old was in the living room at the time she carried out the crime.
Cops say that Sutton and the Coleman had an argument the evening the murder took place, and later on, as the victim slept, Sutton was alleged to have fatally shot him in the head.
Court papers which were obtained by the Houston Chronicle, say that Sutton then allegedly butchered the remains with a machete, wrapped them up in sheets and duct tape, put them into her Jeep and disposed them at different dumpsters.
Sutton went ahead and filed a missing person report on August 18, Houston Chronicles say. She told police officers at the police station that the last time she saw Coleman was two days before the murder and that he left home at about 10:30 p.m.
One of their neighbors who spoke with reporters said Sutton acted like she did not know anything about Coleman’s disappearance, even trying to call him.
Coleman’s car was reportedly still parked at their premises and family and friends who spoke with the police say that they had not heard from him.
One witness also Coleman was seen moving some pieces of furniture before he disappeared.
After about a week of his disappearance, police searched the couple’s apartment and found it almost vacant with traces of blood scattered across the kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom.
The body was reportedly said to have been discovered on August 22 at Baytown landfill, though DNA has not positively identified the remains, the body that was found is said to match the description of the deceased given.
Sutton is reported to have said she would speak to Baytown police about her boyfriend’s disappearance before Hurricane Harvey struck, but she never showed up.
An anonymous tip, helped police trace Sutton to a New Orleans suburb, where she had fled with her ten-year-old daughter.She was subsequently arrested and charged with murder.
Cops say several friends of Sutton said she confessed to killing Coleman and that she dismembered his body because he was too heavy to carry.
