IPOB Declared As A Militant Terrorist Group

The defense Headquarters has classified the Indigenous People of Biafra as a militant Terrorist organization and advised parents to stop their wards from being part of the group.

Maj.-Gen. John Enenche, the Director, Defence Information (DDI) in a statement said after a professional analysis of the operations of the group and the recent developments, the group;s claim of being a non-violent group was not true, hence there was need to make the public know the state of IPOB.

Some of their activities in recent times that has terrorized the public includes the formation of Biafra Secret Service, Biafra National Guard formation and the blocking of access roads and extorting money from civilians as well as the use of weapons.

Meanwhile, after rising from an emergency meeting with the Nigerian army’s GOC, 82 Division, in Enugu, Major General, Abubakar Adamu, governors of South-Eastern states have, on Friday evening, proscribed all activities of the Biafra agitators, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in the region.

The governors also pleaded with President Muhammadu Buhari to withdraw the soldiers from Operation Python Dance II in the region in order for the police to perform their constitutional duty of securing lives and property within states.

The South-East governors emergency meeting with the army was held over IPOB issue and the Operation Python Dance, it was held at the Enugu state government house.

In attendance at the meeting were Governors Dave Umahi of Ebonyi, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, Willie Obiano of Anambra and the Deputy Governor of Imo State.

Also at the meeting were Chief Ike Ekweremadu and the President, the deputy senate president, Nnia Nwodo, the General of the Igbo apex socio-political organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

In their resolution, the Governors declared that henceforth, IPOB should channel all its grievances on all national issues and submit to the Committee of Governors, Ohanaeze Ndigbo and National Assembly members from the South-East Zone, through their chairman, South-East Governors Forum.

They also declared that the Anambra State governorship election scheduled for November must hold.
The Governors of South-East Zone are to ensure strict compliance in their States.

South-East Governors Forum and the Ohaneze Ndigbo also reiterated their commitment to a united Nigeria, as well as a restructuring of the country where national issues will be discussed and resolved to achieve justice.
