The UN Security Council has unanimously slammed a new set of sanctions against North Korea. The United States of America drafted the resolution which imposes new sanctions on the Democratic Peoples Republic of North Korea following its recent nuclear test, which was the sixth and largest in its series of tests.
The resolution had the backing of China and Russia, as the council voted 15-0 to impose the ban on textile exports and restrict oil product shipments to North Korea.It will also suppress smuggling, put an end to joint ventures with other nations, impose sanctions on North Korea’s designated government entities.
North Korea had threatened that the US will suffer and pay ‘due price’ if the UN imposes new sanctions again her.
